    Among many waterfalls in Kerala, Athirappilly Water Falls definitely has the charm to attract tourists from around India. Fall is located in Thrissur district of Kerala in the south of India. The waterfalls have its watercourse from the river Chalakudy, which has its origin from the Anamalai region of Western Ghats. Athirappilly Waterfalls is the largest waterfall in Kerala standing at a height of 80 feet. The fall has been taken into shots in many movies to give a nice location view in movies. God’s own country Kerala has its own Niagara Falls. This blessing of nature has flourished the fauna and flora around it. The lush green surrounding and the fall standing tall amidst it has gained popularity and has become the choice for many of the film directors.

    From the Blockbuster South Indian movie Baahubali, which had broken the barrier of regions of love for cinema, too many of the Bollywood super hits, Athirappilly Water Falls has been featured in many of them. Waterfalls’ grand view has been the first choice for many of the directors. The attraction and the majestic view of this fall, has made many of the Bollywood directors to zoom their camera towards it. A famous Bollywood movie “Dil Se” starring Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Pretty Zinta have shot of Athirappilly Water Falls in the song “Jiya Jale”. The list just not stops here. The Bollywood movies like Guru, Raavan, Nayak, Pukar, Khushi, and lot more had featured this fall in one or more scenes adding an oomph factor in the movie.

    Besides being the love of Bollywood movies, Athirappilly Water Falls does not only stand as a mere beauty symbol of nature and but also is serving its people with the wonder of technology, Hydroelectricity Dam. Athirappilly Water Falls Hydroelectricity Project was been established after many discussions and disputes between the government authorities, locals, and environmentalists.

    Above all the among the Waterfalls in Kerala, Athirappilly Water Falls is an attraction to all visitors because of its gigantic view serving a delight to the eye of the visitors.
